Professionally Certified to Provide Peer Support
Supporting Your Unique Journey
In my peer support practice, I focus on what’s strong instead of what’s wrong to help individuals and teams build resilience and hope in the face of life’s toughest challenges. Not everyone is going to understand your journey, and that’s okay. I am passionate about mental health support because of my lived experience with family mental illness. I offer a space where you can connect with me over our shared experiences with everything from mental illness to parenting special needs kids.
As a mom, I’ve had the honour of parenting a pair of incredible twin boys, both of whom have different special needs. One of my sons has cerebral palsy and the other has a Generalized Anxiety Disorder. My boys have taught me about resilience, courage, and joy—precious lessons I hope to share with every one of my clients. My experiences with my boys inform my peer support practice and allow me to provide support to those with similar experiences.
I’ve also supported family members with mental illness and addiction and I bring these lived experiences into my conversations with clients going through something similar. Looking after my family has also given me an inside look at the systems of youth-to-adult services for both physical and mental health. I can provide guidance on the resources and avenues of care that are available for clients who need them.

My Professional Experiences Guide My Work
Students & Educators
I’ve worked with students from elementary through junior high school facilitating leadership groups and GSAs. I’ve also worked as a Student Support Services Learning Leader. My role in these settings also included leading professional staff wellness learning opportunities and collaborating with parents who have children with special needs to ensure appropriate supports were in place, which included running a parent support group through CMHA Calgary.
Corporate Teams
I’ve also worked with organizations, corporations, and committees to bring Peer Support Training to the workplace to assist in creating a community of support for staff and clients. The Forest Lawn Youth Health Committee, the City of Calgary and the Calgary Humane Society are a few groups that I have had the pleasure to work with.
Mentorship
I’ve been a mentor for the Alberta Association of Peer Support, a Peer Support Trainer, Facilitator and Mentoring Team Lead as well as a Peer Team Administrator with the Canadian Mental Health Association in Calgary.
